Hello! I'm new to the forum and pretty new to LD too, but I'm hoping to make up for lost time.

I first came across Laserdisc in the mid 90s when I was working as a dj at a bar where they got an LD karaoke machine, it was awesome Always wanted to get my hands on one of them bad boys. Got myself a Pioneer CLD-D515 and about 40 discs.

I too am new here. I also have a PIONEER CLD-D515. Actually, I have two.

Two stand-by PIONEER CLD-D515 machines.

They are my spare machines incase anything drops off my two CLD-D925s. The 515 is aneat macine I found. the only thing which lets it down a little is that it does not have a digital optical out, so no DTS!

Still, that is a small price for a good machine. Do you use the 5.1 out? It did not take me too long to realise that 5.1 from an LD was far superior to a DVD so it is well worth checking out if you haven't already done so.

That is fine and there are some pretty good folks on there - march being one of them - but it is just one sub-thread. Not like here.

That's the same experience I had, so thought it was about time we had a dedicated forum to fly the LaserDisc flag in it's own right.

I used to run a karaoke/disc myself until recently, mostly CDG & VCD and later it was all MP3+G for convenience, but those LaserDisc karaoke discs are great, the sound quality and background movies are excellent.
