Laserdisc player error code P5

Have a Pioneer CLD-S104 laserdisc player, got a P5 error on the screen. Anyone know what is error is and how to fix it ? Any help would be greatfull.

Thanks for the great info. I take it a P5 error is a spindle rotation start problem by the info you gave me. Have any idea what would cause it ? My Laserdisc player will load the disc then the spindle will start then stop then start again then just stop. Nothing else happens except the P5 comes on the display. Looks like the photo eye searches for the start but then nothing. Cleaned the photo eye but didn't help.
