Help with a repair job!

Hello everyone.
I have a Sony CD CDV LD PLAYER MDP850D and had it for a while now. For some reason, no power seems to be going to it. Any ideas on what could be wrong and where/how this can be repaired in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

I've checked the fuse and electrical lead and that works fine. Its gone from working great until one day it just stopped working with no obvious reason.

It's a fantastic machine as it autoplays both sides of the disc and plays both PAL and NTSC and don't want to have to replace it if its repairable.

I don't know if these will be any good, I haven't used either myself personally. They may, however be abl to point you in the right direction...

I worked as a TV VCR technician for Visionhire many years ago, i still repair electronics as a hobby and would be happy to come and take a look at your machine for just the price of the fuel.
I live in Newcastle too, so not very far to travel.

I repair LD players on and off, and why the fuse have blown can be many reasons, first off, it could just be old and need a replacement, and that is something you probably can do your self, before sending it around =)
