Laserdiscs and Portal 2 (Yes! There is a connection!)

Portal 2 got released early, it is available now but wasn't meant to be until around lunch UK time. I have been playing it for around two hours and am up to Chapter 3 but I guess I'd better stop and start working.

Before I do though I thought you guys might appreciate this. In one level I had a 'load of junk' thrown at me, when I looked at the debris around my feet I saw this:



Sorry for the low image quality, I had to take a picture of the screen as print screen wasn't working (why do games do that?).

However it's clear to see that amongst the 'load of junk' thrown at me is a laserdisc. Look at it in comparison to the size of the chair. I wonder what GLaDOS watches on her retro formats...

Yea I beat Portal 2 recently. When I was doing the co-op mission with my buddy, I chuckled when I saw the giant disc and instantly thought Laser disc!

There is a bit in a Simpsons episode where Homer is walking through a dump. There are several piles each with a sign above. They say, Betamax, VHS, Laserdisc and then there is an empty space with a sign saying DVD. Made me laugh.
