LASERDISC 2950 PROBLEM

dont know if there is already a thread on this, but i couldnt find one. my problem is this,on putting the disc into the tray and closing, the player jams for a few seconds before pushing the disc back out. anyone else had this problem or know of a solution? cheers

Hi, do you get an error on the screen saying 'U1' ? This happened to me with my CLD925 and seems the main thing to happen over time. The Jamming sound you are hearing is the belt slipping on the loader pulley(this will be behind the front power switch). Some people have been known to thump the left side once the disc goes in when you hear the jamming sound which can jolt the belt however over time this will dent/damage your player. Change the loader assembly motor belt, part number VEB1184 (black rubber belt). Search the internet for the part and if your confident enough to replace it you will save a packet and time

Replaced mine over a year ago and played over 80 movies without a hitch.
