Thought I'd start a thread for everyone to let us know what new additions you have for your collections.

    My update:

I bought a few discs off ebay lately and they all arrived today:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Pal in Mint Condition
Been meaning to pick this up for a while now, got it on DVD but it deserves to be on LD Smile

Waynes World - Pal - Great condition. I love this movie.

Logan's Run - Deluxe Letter-box Edition. Excellent condition. Has a very nice gatefold. One of my all time favorites. This flick has influenced so many other sci-fi movies in recent years.

I'm on the lookout for the looney tunes set too. Was it expensive?

Well, it certainly is a quite rare Box Set. I paid about $50 for it, although it's not that much money in Swedish Kronor. To me, it was worth every penny I paid for it. I think some episodes aren't on Dvd, which makes it uniqe in a way. The fifth volume is supposed to be the rarest of them all but the best looking package is by far the first volume. It has the right colors for a Looney Tunes-collection, the other four aren't the same beautiful.

A nice pick up there nissling. Would be great to have those Looney Tunes sets. Also, Im quite impressed with the box artwork on Sleeping Beauty. Very Cool.

and Nice work on a sealed Care Bears the movie Rayzor1. Thats the one with the kid and the scary book right? It's been a while since i last revisited it. I'd kill to get a copy of the Chipmunk Adventure on LD. Now thats a classic.

I just got a couple of discs in the mail yesterday.

    https://2img.net/h/i1130.photobucket.com/albums/m531/bullruckle/DSC04809.jpg

I was after the Chasing Amy, and then it seemed silly to pay the shipping for one LD, when it costs the same amount for local shipping for up to 3 LDs. So I went ahead and got a guilty pleasure movie, Toy Soldiers. Great flick if you've never seen it. Very Happy

Oh, forgot to mention, both disc are still new and sealed which is great but also always a dilemma for me. I, of course, want to watch these movies, but it seems a shame to open up the plastic when they've gone, in the case of Chasing Amy, 13 years with out ever being opened (and a few more years on top of that for poor old Toy Soldiers).
Anyone else in the same boat? Or maybe I've just got a problem pale

I just won this today. Yes it is a bit above the odds price-wise, but the Signature series is good and I love the movie.

The Thing Signture Edition Laserdisc front, gatefold, and rear cover.

    Very Happy

Collection Updates Empty From eBay (again)

Post  DGTWoodward Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:32 pm

I have just won this auction for...

    The Hidden NTSC Laserdisc.

I know that this film has had a DVD release, maybe more than one, but I doubt very much that it will make it through to Bluray, and as the LD has a good selection of extras, I am happ with this.

Again, a bit over the odds in terms of price, but I like it...

And not just for Claudia Christian in that red dress!

Ok maybe just a little bit.

I've always wanted to see The Hidden, I remember it being in the video rental place but I never did get around to watching it. I'll have to look out for a copy on LD or failing that I may have to resort to a lowly DVD Sad No

    I got three LD's today.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas
2001: A Space Odyssey (Criterion box Set)
    Natural Born Killers

However, I was quite shocked when I saw that the copy of 2001: A Space Odyssey I got was brand new and sealed! The auction said it was used and it costed about $20 but what a positive surprise! Very Happy
Although, it's hard for me to decide if I'm going to open it or not. It's worth more now because it's brand new but I want to see what's inside.

Brilliant, a sealed and new Criterion. Sold by a person that clearly had no idea what it really was.

I have just won these two....

    When Worlds Collide Laserdisc.

    Classic Star Trek TV Episodes.

Loving this whole laserdisc thing. It is such a cool format.

    Good haul.

"Outland" Wasn't that the much underrated semi HIGH NOON in space? I seem to recall it being much better than the pretty dull reviews that it got. Is it 4:3?

I really like it. Yeah I think High Noon in space is a good description. I've not played the LD yet, but lddb says says it's 4:3. I have the widescreen version on DVD, but it's still great to have the LD, I'm looking forward to hearing how the analogue stereo audio sounds.

Collection Updates Empty They arrived today.....

Post  DGTWoodward Sat Nov 20, 2010 5:26 pm

These fell into my greedy little hands today...

Well, they didn't fall exactly. As it happens also, I have rather large hands too.

Oh, you know what I mean (go with it, I'm excited Very Happy!)

The Sean Connery 007 Set Volume 2
    Connery 007 Set, rear cover.
    Information insert enclosed, pristine
007 set, all discs present and in good order.

    And the brilliant Carpenter tale...

    The Thing Signature Edition Leasrdisc.
    The rear cover.
The Gatefold information and signature, (just a shame it's not real!)

Really loving it so far! With BATMAN-MASK OF PHANTASM, WESTWORLD, THE HIDDEN, CLASSIC TREK (two more episodes) and WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE all still to arrive!
