Greetings all, just wanted to say hello.

I've wanted a LaserDsic player since the early 90s when my girlfriend's dad had one, and finally I got round to picking one up!

Good to find this LD resource and I look forward to chatting with you.

    Cheers,
    Ed

Welcome to the Retroflix forum Edward. I too am a fairly recent addition to the ranks (2 year in May).

It's a sharp learning experience but a really fun one Very Happy

So, what types of film/titles interest you? What things are you after, do have a 'grail' you are chasing?

Really glad to have you here!

    Hey, thanks for your reply.

So filmwise I am mainly into horror and action (preferably of the 80s variety), I have a pretty extensive DVD collection but have always wanted to check out my favourite films on LD so figured now was the time! I don't have a grail as such, my favourite film of all time has to be Aliens so I have bought that but only a standard version, so will be keeping my eyes peeled for any special/weird editions of that. Also would like to get some of favourite horror films like Re-Animator, The Burning etc. on LD if I can find them. And I love all things Japanese so will definitely be looking out for some of the Japanese versions of my favourite movies.

What I'm really keen to play around with is the audio and to get 5.1 up and running. I've read a few things about it but it seems a bit confusing about the best way to do it, so if there's any resources you can point me to that would be appreciated.

Also keen to play around with how to get the best picture quality possible on my LCD TV, not sure exactly what this will require (an upscaler I assume).

Phew, there's a lot there, can't wait till my Laser Discs are delivered and I can test out the player!

    Cheers
