    laserdisc players and movies

    Post  Rmx77 on Thu Dec 29, 2011 5:08 am

hello there all. i'm new around here and i have been into laserdiscs for about 9 years or so. i have bout 16 or so movies and 3 players 2 of which work pretty well and one which has a power on relay issue. one of the movies i happened to acquire was a copy of the original terminator movie. the one downfall of the copy i got was the glue used to bind the disc together is still sticky on the outer rim and that causes the plastic bag sleeve to stick to the disc and also it has caused sticky stuff to get on the play sides of the disc. to my surprise one out of the 3 laserdisc players played the movie without skipping when it got to the glue spots. what i would like to do is replace the movie since its a favorite movie with another of the same copy. i happen to have a 1989 immage/hbo copy. i would like to be able to find a 1984 or around that time copy of the movie on laserdisc if not i would go with the 1991 version. i also wonder if they issued the movie in special edition since thats how i prefer the terminator movies. also i am on a hunt to get an auto flip player since all my players are single side play and i have to manually flip the discs. yuck! well if anyone might have anything like this or has a collection or anything just let me know bout it
