WHAT PLAYER SHOULD I BUY ?

I have been offered a DVL909 laserdisc player , can anyone let me know if this is a good player and what price I should expect to pay ?
What other players should I consider ?

The Pioneer DVL-909 is a combi player (plays CDs, LDs and DVDs).
I have one, too.

About the DVD section, is an old basic player.
About the LD section, is an average player for NTSC, quite good for PAL.

It's a good choice to start if you have many PAL laserdiscs and some NTSC; you will eventually upgrade in the future.
If you have only NTSC laserdisc, take a look at another player - a simple CLD-704 is better...

I think a good price will be around 150-200 Euro if in good condition with the original remote. Check extensively the functions, in particular the side change.

For LD playback i would avoid the DVL players. The LD playback is on par with the average mid range players. Try and hunt down a CLD704.
